MEPs show support to Mzia Amaghlobeli in European Parliament

"Free Mzia Amaghlobeli!" - this was the slogan of the MEPs, who showed support to the arrested Georgian journalists in the European Parliament today.

The organizer of the action in support of the founder of Batumelebi, Mzia Amaghlobeli, was MEP Petras Auštrevičius.

The MEPs brought a Georgian flag and posters with the inscription: "Free Mzia Amaghlobeli".

Mzia Amaghlobeli, the founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti, has been on hunger strike for the 25th day. Mzia Amaghlobeli is being detained under Article 353 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to assault on a police officer. Amaghlobeli was initially detained under administrative law during the rally in Batumi, near the main police department, and was released about two hours later. A few minutes after her release, she was detained again near the department.
