"I've had concerts everywhere, but I've never had one in a courtroom – free speech, a free voice, which is heard, does not stop. A person cannot stop it inside," said musician Nino Katamadze in front of the Kutaisi City Court before the start of a trial involving journalists and representatives from various professions.
As Nino Katamadze pointed out, the sense of injustice has accumulated to the point that "she doesn't know how this voice should stop."
"I've had concerts everywhere, but I've never had one in a courtroom. I've never been there. Free speech, a free voice, which is heard, does not stop. A person cannot stop it inside. The sense of injustice has accumulated so much, and the situation with Mzia Amaghlobeli, Temur Katamadze's hunger strike... there are so many events, I don't know how this voice should stop," Katamadze said.
For your information, a trial involving journalists and representatives from various professions is scheduled to take place at the Kutaisi City Court.
The trial of nine individuals will be led by Judge Tsitsino Mosidze. Journalists and other professionals are being charged under Article 174-prim, part 3 of the Administrative Offenses Code. The case was opened on January 26, following a protest and gathering in front of the judge’s house. The protesters were voicing their opposition to the imprisonment of Mzia Amaghlobeli and the decision made by the appellate court.
According to media reports, the following individuals were issued tickets: Gela Mtivlishvili – journalist, editor of Georgia News / Mountain News; Nino Katamadze – musician, founder of the Nino Katamadze Foundation; Vladimir Apkhazava – teacher, first recipient of the National Teacher's Award; Khvicha Vashakhmadze – journalist; Ketevan Filauri – psychologist; Maia Tsiramua – psychologist; Irina Zarandia – civil activist; Givi Tsintzadze – member of Lanchkhuti City Council; Eka Kuchalashvili – journalist at Kutaisi Post.
