Levan Machavariani: We announced the transfer of the American FARA, and the next day we learned that there are plans to make certain changes to the FARA legislation in the United States – there is a reasonable suspicion that this is not just a coincidence

"What a strange coincidence! - It happened very oddly, with just a one-day difference, when we announced the transfer of the American FARA, and the next day we learned that there are plans to make some changes to the FARA legislation in the U.S. – there is a reasonable suspicion that this is not just a coincidence," commented Levan Machavariani, a deputy from the "Georgian Dream" party, in a media statement.

When speaking about the activities of foreign donor organizations in Georgia, Machavariani also said, "You might shake hands with one hand, but with the other hand, you might strike with a knife."

"Mr. Trump openly and declaratively fights against the DEEP STATE, which we call the 'global war party.' The DEEP STATE has its influence not only in USAID and NEED, but also in many bureaucratic structures of the U.S. Trump signed many decrees on the first days, beginning the cleansing of bureaucracy employees.

We don't have information about which agencies still have DEEP STATE employees and which don't, but the suspicion expressed by the Prime Minister is certainly well-founded. It seems this won't be resolved with a snap of the fingers; everything needs time.

If anyone (donor organizations) has done something beneficial for Georgia, of course, we are grateful for that, but if someone's money is used to dig the foundation for peace, and it could be the same organization's money, when on one side of the scale it says you're doing something good, but at the same time, you're trying to undermine my state's foundation, tell me this upfront, and I’ll tell you that I don't want your goodness or anything else, and leave my country alone so I can continue a harmonious life," Levan Machavariani concluded.

Ambassador of Korea Hyon Du KIM - Korea’s strength lies in high-tech manufacturing while Georgia’s strength is in logistics and service areas - Georgia should not be just considered as a single market but as a market that can encompass the region and beyond
