Zurab Chkhaidze: Mzia Amaghlobeli has all the symptoms associated with prolonged starvation; moving around is not easy for her. After 30 days, there is a very high risk of organ dysfunction and complications

Mzia Amaghlobeli has all the characteristic symptoms associated with prolonged starvation; moving around is not easy for her. After 30 days, each day carries a significant risk of organ dysfunction and complications, said Zurab Chkhaidze, the director of the "VivaMed" clinic, regarding the health condition of Mzia Amaghlobeli, the founder of "Batumelebi."

According to him, there has been no loss of consciousness up to this point.

Chkhaidze also mentioned that the clinic's medical team recommends that Mzia Amaghlobeli remains under medical supervision.

"As you know, the patient has been fasting for 31 days. Prolonged starvation is a very difficult physiological process, and each additional day of fasting is associated with real complications. These include carbohydrate burning, fat burning, protein and internal resource utilization, which leads to various complications, primarily cardiovascular. Additionally, there can be dysfunction of different organs, and so on. The clinic is, of course, ready and conducts daily monitoring, providing the necessary medical services in terms of supervision. Laboratory tests are carried out daily, and if necessary, instrumental examinations and so on.

She has all the characteristic symptoms related to this prolonged starvation and its effects over 31 days. Moving around is not easy for her, but she tries to move and be more active. I want to emphasize that after 30 days, each day carries a significant risk of organ dysfunction and complications.

Chronic diseases are, of course, taken into account by our medical team, and everything is being done for preventative purposes. You know that a group of doctors from the Ombudsman's office visited, and our joint recommendation is for her to remain under monitoring in the clinic, as daily complications will be easier to manage in a clinical setting.

She fully understands the potential complications and has agreed to continue the monitoring process in the clinic. Our recommendation is for her to stop the fasting, and perhaps society, advocates, or family members could get more involved in this to avoid the potential complications," Zurab Chkhaidze stated.
