"We must not surrender Georgia and Armenia to Russian imperialism," said Michael Roth, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag, in response to the Armenian Parliament's adoption of a bill to begin the process of joining the European Union.

"Dear Nikol Pashinyan, congratulations on this huge step towards the European Union. What a historic decision! I truly hope that the EU will not just find kind words, but will actively support Armenia. We must not surrender Georgia and Armenia to Russian imperialism," Roth wrote.
