The Batumi City Court ruled that the request of the lawyers to change the preventive measure for Mzia Amaglobeli was inadmissible

The request by the lawyers of Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of "Batumelebi," to change her preventive measure was deemed inadmissible by Judge Levan Qolbaia of the Batumi City Court.

This information was shared by the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association (GYLA).

According to them, they will appeal the ruling in the appellate court.

"This is yet another unlawful and unjustified decision by the court against Mzia Amaglobeli. There is no basis that justifies her imprisonment. With these decisions, Georgian justice is writing its own history of unlawfulness. We will appeal the court's ruling to the appellate court," stated GYLA.

For reference, the lawyers of Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of "Batumelebi," requested the court to revoke her imprisonment as a preventive measure on February 13. It should also be noted that Mzia Amaghlobeli slapped the head of Batumi police, Irakli Dgebuadze. She was arrested on charges of assaulting a police officer. Mzia Amaglobeli has been on hunger strike since her arrest, marking the 34th day.
