In Batumi, a tragic accident claimed the lives of 3- and 6-year-old children

­In Batumi, in the so-called "Dream City," a tragic accident resulted in the deaths of 3- and 6-year-old children.

As Ramaz Jincharadze, a member of the Supreme Council of Adjara, told "InterpressNews," the children were in an area from which residents had been evicted.

According to him, the children fell into a sewage trench made by one of the evicted residents.

“A tragic accident occurred. The children fell into a trench that was crudely made and was filled with sewage. The incident happened where old houses had been demolished. The children were neighbors. Both bodies have been transferred to the morgue,” he said.

According to available information, the children had been missing and searched for throughout the day.

The Batumi City Hall reported that the trench the children fell into was filled with water.
