"Let it be clear to everyone once and for all that the state cannot be blackmailed! – Using Mzia Amaglobeli as a blind tool for blackmailing the country will not happen," said Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, in a statement to journalists.
The "Georgian Dream" MP advised Mzia Amaglobeli, founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti, who has been on a hunger strike for 38 days, to end her strike and take care of her health first and foremost.
"It is necessary for the radical forces who support, encourage, and incite Mzia Amaglobeli to continue her hunger strike to stop this destruction, and it must be clear to everyone once and for all that the state cannot be blackmailed. Using Mzia Amaglobeli as a blind tool for blackmailing the country will not happen. We advise Ms. Mzia to end her hunger strike, engage in the process that is truly called an investigation, cooperate with the investigation, and take care of her own health first and foremost. As for the state, it is doing everything to ensure that the health condition of Mzia Amaglobeli, as well as any other prisoner, is as protected as possible," said Matikashvili.
