According to the State Security Service, two Georgian citizens have been detained, and important evidence for the investigation has been seized from their residences, including ammunition, various electronic devices, cash, and other significant items.
As stated in the SSSG's announcement, various pieces of evidence confirming a possible connection with an international terrorist organization have also been seized from the detainees' homes.
"As part of counterterrorism operations, the State Security Service of Georgia has conducted multiple special operations simultaneously across the country, based on ongoing operational activities and investigative actions.
As a result of these measures, two Georgian citizens have been detained, and important evidence for the investigation has been seized from their residences, including ammunition, various electronic devices, cash, and other significant items.
Additionally, various pieces of evidence confirming a possible connection with an international terrorist organization have been seized from the detainees' homes.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 328 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, concerning participation in a foreign terrorist organization and assistance in terrorist activities.
The investigation is being conducted by the Counterterrorism Center of the State Security Service," the SSSG statement reads.
