Levan Machavariani: Russia participates in the "3+3 format," and we have no intention of sitting at the same table with them

"Russia participates in the '3+3 format,' and naturally, under such circumstances, we have no intention of sitting at the same table with them," said Levan Machavariani, a member of the Georgian Dream party. His statement was in response to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who recently remarked that "there will always be a seat for Georgian representatives in the '3+3 format' meeting hall."

According to Machavariani, there have been no discussions regarding this matter.

"Russia is part of the '3+3 format,' and Russia has occupied our territories. Naturally, in such a setting, we are not planning to engage in any negotiations with them. We do not have diplomatic relations with Russia, nor any other type of engagement. First, we must resolve the issue of our territorial integrity—only then could discussions about any kind of format even begin," he stated.

Additionally, Machavariani commented on remarks made by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He expressed agreement with Trump’s claim that "Zelensky could have avoided the war with Russia."

"I cannot assess whether Zelensky is a dictator or not—that is not for me to decide. However, I do agree with Mr. Trump that Zelensky could have avoided this war. Trump has openly stated that Ukraine had the option to prevent this conflict, but Zelensky was encouraged and emboldened by the so-called 'big guys.' He should have avoided this war," Machavariani said.
