Kakha Okriashvili: Yes, without justice and fair elections, there will be no peace!

"Parliamentary elections have concluded in Germany, and as expected, Friedrich Merz’s bloc has won. Merz is known as a politician who makes quick and tough decisions, supporting broader military aid to Ukraine and advocating for stricter measures against Russia. However, this is not the main topic today. I want to focus on the fact that virtually all exit poll data matched the final results, and the defeated candidate congratulated the winner. This is what true democratic elections look like.

In our case, international organizations' exit polls ranged between 40.9% and 42%, while 'Georgian Dream' recorded 53.9%—which is 13% more than what they actually received, even after organizing vote-buying, intimidation, and coercion. In total, four opposition parties received more votes than 'Georgian Dream' and, in reality, won the election. Exit polls are not the only indicator that the parliamentary elections were rigged—we all know this, and it has been noted in reports by the OSCE, ODIHR, and other international organizations. 'Georgian Dream' is a de facto government that forcefully and unlawfully retains power that does not rightfully belong to it.

Politicians, experts, and anyone who cares to speak about it keep discussing polarization, societal division, and the need for consensus. The ideal way to achieve this consensus is when the entire political spectrum, along with the people and clergy, agree on fundamental issues. And how is this consensus achieved? The only path to unity, not just in our country but everywhere, is through absolutely fair elections.

For a small nation like ours, survival depends on unity—only by coming together can we remain competitive and protect our interests, not only against global players but also in relations with our neighboring countries. When a nation stands united, even major powers take notice and show respect.

Elections are fair when exit poll results align with final outcomes, when the defeated candidate congratulates the winner, and when the opposition has no complaints. Fair elections consistently lead to changes in government.

Conclusion—what I and our entire nation want is Georgia’s progress and victory. We cannot achieve this without unity, and unity will never be possible unless fair elections are held. Yes, without justice and fair elections, there will be no peace!" – stated Kakha Okriashvili.
