Broadcasting companies will be prohibited from receiving direct or indirect funding from foreign forces, including monetary funds or any other material benefits of property value. These changes are being introduced to the Law on Broadcasting.
Additionally, foreign forces will be banned from purchasing services from broadcasters, as well as from directly or indirectly funding or co-funding program production and transmission.
Furthermore, a new provision will be added to the law, prohibiting broadcasters from receiving direct or indirect funding in exchange for placing social advertisements.
These amendments to the Law on Broadcasting are part of a joint legislative initiative by the Georgian Dream and People's Power parties and have already been introduced in Parliament.
