Criminal liability will be established for failure to fulfill or improper fulfillment of the obligations provided by the "Foreign Agents Registration Act" law

Criminal liability will be established for failure to fulfill or improper fulfillment of the obligations provided by the "Foreign Agents Registration Act" law.

The bill initiated in Parliament by "Georgian Dream," which, according to available information, is a direct translation of the U.S. FARA, includes amendments to the Criminal Code.

A new article will be added to the criminal legislation, according to which violations of the "Foreign Agents Registration Act" will be punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to five years.

It is noteworthy that the "Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence," adopted last spring, provides for administrative fines for failure to comply with its requirements.
