The European Union is ready to pay Georgian youth to protest against the government, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service says.
“Within the framework of the European Union program Georgian Youth for Europe, young Georgians will be offered grants of up to 50,000 euros for the implementation of “progressive” projects. The main criterion for allocating funds is the authors’ loyalty to the West,” the Russian Intelligence Service said in a statement.
According to the Intelligence Service, the European Union is ready to pay participants in demonstrations 120 euros per day.
“The EU representation in Tbilisi has been allocated significant funds for the maintenance and coordination of the demonstrations. It is planned to pay each participant in the anti-government demonstrations 120 euros per day for their daily “work.” In the event of attempts by the Georgian authorities to block EU channels for financing subversive actions, an option is being developed to transfer cash from the embassies of EU countries in Armenia to Tbilisi,” reads the statement.
According to the Intelligence Service, Georgian and European media outlets and non-governmental organizations “subordinate to Brussels” are focused on “brainwashing” bloggers, journalists, IT specialists, and Russians who have moved to Georgia with stories about the “advantages of cooperation with a united Europe” and the impasse of the “pro-Russian vector of politics” chosen by Georgian Dream.
