Paweł Herczyński has long crossed the "red lines" and has become the mouthpiece of the "deep state" in Georgia, said Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, in response to reports that the EU Ambassador to Georgia is holding meetings with young people.
According to Matikashvili, the current EU Ambassador is completely overstepping diplomatic boundaries.
He further claimed that Herczyński is engaged in promoting values that are neither European nor acceptable to the EU.
"It is very unfortunate that we have to say this, but it is a fact. The current EU representative, the ambassador, is completely detached from diplomatic norms. He has long since crossed the 'red lines' and it is evident that he has become the mouthpiece of the 'deep state' in Georgia. Instead of working towards harmonizing relations between countries and bringing Georgia closer to the EU, he is focused on division, confrontation, and, unfortunately, the promotion of values that are neither European nor acceptable to the European Union.
I sincerely hope that the situation will reset, that things will take a positive turn, and that future diplomatic representatives from the EU in Georgia will genuinely fulfill their diplomatic mission, rather than acting as spokespeople for certain forces whose goals, unfortunately, have nothing to do with our country's European path or its democratic development," Matikashvili stated.
