"I feel special solidarity and emotion for Mate Devidze because he was arrested over an episode where we physically found ourselves together," said Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the "Coalition for Change".

Melia attended the court hearing of 21-year-old Mate Devidze, who has been detained on charges of attacking a police officer.

According to Melia, political prisoners will not have to remain imprisoned for long.

"It is a tragedy when such talented, promising, and energetic young individuals have been locked up for months for absolutely no reason—while the real criminals are the ones ruling this country. But this is only a temporary situation.

We stand in solidarity with all political prisoners. In particular, I feel a special connection to Mate Devidze because he was arrested over an episode where, despite not knowing each other personally, we were physically together. He was simply defending himself, his dignity, and the interests of this country.

I believe that in the future, despite this injustice, he and his family will look back on this with pride. I am convinced that political prisoners will not have to remain captives for long," Melia stated.
