Nino Dolidze: If anyone doubts why Georgian citizens are protesting or what they are doing during protests, I invite them to come and see for themselves, don't trust any information

"If anyone doubts why Georgian citizens are standing or what they are doing during protests, I invite them to come and see for themselves, don't trust any information!" This was stated by Nino Dolidze, the Chairperson of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy, in an interview with InterpressNews, in response to a statement from Russian intelligence about the EU allegedly paying 120 euros per day to protest participants.

Dolidze noted that it is unfortunate that the messages of the "Georgian Dream" party align with the narratives from Russian intelligence.

"The fact that Russia spreads disinformation in Georgia is not new. We saw similar statements during the election period as well. What is unfortunate is that the messages from 'Georgian Dream' often align with these. Of course, we cannot say for sure whether these statements are aligned because they are in agreement or simply repeating them. But the fact is, very often, they repeat Russian narratives, which are disinformation and harm Georgia and its citizens. We must oppose only one thing – the truth. If anyone doubts why Georgian citizens are out on the streets or what they are doing during protests, I invite them to come to the protests, see for themselves what is happening, and witness the passionate commitment of Georgian citizens to our better future. Only then will they be convinced. Don’t trust any information, come and see for yourself what is really happening," Dolidze stated.

For reference, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, the European Union is allegedly ready to pay Georgian youth.

"It is planned to pay 120 euros per day to each participant of the anti-government protests," the statement said.
