[Annalena Baerbock] is lecturing us that insulting her on social media should be punishable, while someone who slaps a police officer should be released from prison – Excuse me, Madam Baerbock, you have been exposed – these double standards won’t work," said Guram Macharashvili, a deputy from "People’s Power," while commenting to journalists on the statement by the German Foreign Ministry.
According to him, the "deep state" is also raging in Germany.
"We can say that Germany’s Foreign Minister has filed hundreds of complaints against German citizens, many of whom have been fined simply because someone called Baerbock a 'foolish minister' on social media. She sued a citizen over this, and now she is teaching us that insulting her online should be punishable, while someone who slaps a police officer should be released from prison. Excuse me, Madam Baerbock, you have been exposed – these double standards won’t work. The Georgian public sees that, unfortunately, the 'deep state' is raging in Germany as well. I am sure that, just as the American people have defeated it, the German people will do the same," Macharashvili said.
For reference, Germany is demanding the "immediate release" of Mzia Amaghlobeli, the founder of "Netgazeti" and "Batumelebi."
"Georgian journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli will appear in court tomorrow after being in detention for over a month. She must be released immediately.
'Georgian Dream' continues its campaign of intimidation against journalists, demonstrators, and the opposition. We stand with those who defend freedom," the German Foreign Ministry stated.
