I call on the international community, especially European countries that did not condemn the so-called elections held in Abkhazia, to condemn these so-called elections and declare them illegal! - This statement was made today by Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations.
Samkharadze responded to the second round of the so-called presidential elections held in Russian-occupied Abkhazia on March 1st during the plenary session of the Parliament.
On behalf of the Parliament, we condemn the conduct of the “elections,” as any act or action carried out on the territory of Abkhazia, as long as Georgia’s jurisdiction is not fully restored and Abkhazia is not de-occupied, is, of course, illegal. These so-called elections are also illegal,* said Nikoloz Samkharadze.
As a reminder, the second round of the so-called “presidential elections” in occupied Abkhazia took place on March 1st, where, according to the so-called "CEC," Badra Gumba "won." Specifically, according to the so-called "CEC," the preliminary results of the vote showed that Aslan Ardzinba received 41.54% of the votes, while Badra Gumba received 54.73%.
