"I have not exercised the powers of a member of parliament for a single moment, I did not fill out the declaration, and for this reason, the Anti-Corruption Agency fined me. I intend to appeal this fine, I will defend my interests myself, and I will demonstrate the absurdity of how our state resources are being spent," said one of the leaders of the coalition "For the People - A Strong Georgia," Ana Dolidze.
According to her, "Georgian Dream" terminated her parliamentary mandate at her request, but the Anti-Corruption Bureau still fined her.
"You gave me your vote to be a member of parliament so that I could implement reforms for your well-being, increase salaries, introduce a minimum wage policy, implement a free school meal program, ensure safety in the streets, etc.
Then, as a protest, we wrote a statement because 'Georgian Dream' stole the elections. They wanted us to be the enforcers of the new order.
'Georgian Dream' terminated our parliamentary mandates, and I was never a member of the Georgian Parliament for even a single day, nor did I receive any salary. I continue my activities exactly as I did before—I give lectures and engage in international consulting.
After the elections, we were required to fill out declarations, but I did not do this because I did not start my work in parliament. I immediately wrote a statement that I did not want to be a member of parliament and that I considered 'Georgian Dream' a self-proclaimed government.
Since I did not fill out the declaration, because, I repeat, I did not exercise the powers of a member of parliament for even one minute, the Anti-Corruption Bureau fined me. I intend to appeal this fine. I am a lawyer, and I will defend my interests. I will demonstrate the absurdity of how our state resources are being spent," Ana Dolidze said.
