Mzia Amaghlobeli's lawyers request the questioning of Irakli Dgebuadze and Grigol Gegelia in court

"We demand the questioning of high-ranking police officials Irakli Dgebuadze and Grigol Beselia in court," said Mzia Amaghlobeli's lawyers at a hearing in Batumi City Court. The lawyers are requesting the questioning of Grigol Beselia and Irakli Dgebuadze as witnesses in Mzia Amaghlobeli's administrative case. Judge Salikh Shainidze of Batumi City Court left the motion open.

"Grigol Beselia directly made the arrest, while Irakli Dgebuadze was present at the process, claiming that Mzia Amaghlobeli is arrested under Article 150, which is why we request their questioning," the lawyers stated.

Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs categorically disagree with the request to question Irakli Dgebuadze and Grigol Beselia as witnesses in court.

"We do not believe that their testimony is relevant to this case. We do not see any reason to satisfy the motion in Grigol Beselia's case either. It is clear who the arresting officer is. Whether Grigol Beselia made the arrest or not is not the subject of the discussion; today, the court is addressing an administrative violation. Yes, these people were not out of nowhere; they were on-site, there was verbal abuse against the police officers and resistance. These people witnessed the arrest and are also full witnesses of the previous events," stated the Ministry of Internal Affairs representative.

Due to these arguments, a verbal confrontation occurred between the parties.

"This is the process of an administrative violation hearing. I do not want to limit any party, and I believe I am leaving the motion regarding Irakli Dgebuadze and Grigol Beselia's issue open," said Judge Salikh Shainidze.
