The chairman of GYLA: We have evidence confirming that the administrative case against Mzia Amaghlobeli was initiated based on false information – the reports have been falsified

"We have evidence confirming that the administrative case against Mzia was initiated based on false information," said Nona Kurdovanidze, the lawyer of Mzia Amaghlobeli, founder of "Netgazeti" and "Batumelebi," in a statement to the media.

According to the lawyer, the reports in the case have been falsified and contain incorrect information.

"We have evidence proving what led to Mzia Amaghlobeli’s detention. It was due to putting up a sticker on a wall. The sticker was such that it could be easily removed without leaving any trace. However, after realizing that they had no legal grounds to detain her under that charge—despite Mzia already being detained under administrative procedures—they fabricated a new version, claiming that she insulted police officers. This is why we state that the reports have been falsified and contain false information.

Among other inaccuracies, the reports falsely claim that Mzia was detained by a different officer, whereas footage clearly shows that she was arrested by Grigol Beselia, the head of the Adjara police.

Today was the stage for presenting evidence, and we submitted these facts as proof. We filed multiple motions, many of which were included in the case file, while those that were not approved will be contested further.

We have evidence proving that the administrative case against Mzia was initiated based on false information, and it does not reflect the truth," stated Kurdovanidze.
