According to prosecutor Mikheil Sadrazde, the relevant department has already contacted Interpol regarding the red notice for Giorgi Bachiashvili.

"As far as I know, the relevant department, the structural unit, has already applied for a red notice against Bachiashvili," the prosecutor stated.

For reference, the charges against Giorgi Bachiashvili relate to an act committed in 2017. Specifically, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, Bachiashvili gave the investor only $536,900 in exchange for the full profit from the investment, while unlawfully appropriating the remaining 8,986 bitcoins belonging to the investor. At the time of the illegal appropriation, the value of these bitcoins amounted to approximately $43 million.

Giorgi Bachiashvili does not consider himself guilty of the charges. He had initially been granted bail set at 2,500,000 GEL, along with additional restrictive measures. However, in this case, his bail was later replaced with pretrial detention.

This offense carries a sentence of 9 to 12 years of imprisonment.

In addition to this case, Giorgi Bachiashvili has been charged in two other cases—the "Mtkvari HPP" case and the illegal border crossing case.

In the "Mtkvari HPP" case, he has been charged under Article 220¹, Part 2 of the Georgian Criminal Code, which concerns the failure or improper performance of official duties by a person with special authority, resulting in serious consequences. This charge carries a sentence of 2 to 5 years of imprisonment.

Bachiashvili has also been charged in a case related to the illegal crossing of Georgia’s state border. He has been placed in pretrial detention for thiscase as well.
