According to political analyst Nika Chitadze, U.S. President Donald Trump aims to achieve his own goals and boost his authority by ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
As Chitadze stated on Palitra News’ program "Resume," the statements made by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the head of the U.S. Government Efficiency Department, Elon Musk, have an anti-democratic nature.
"Rubio’s statement is, first and foremost, anti-American and anti-democratic, as he puts Ukraine and Russia in the same category. The same goes for Elon Musk’s statement, where he says, 'Stop the bloodshed,' which sounds like condemning violence from both sides.
A person who says, 'I don’t want Russia or the West,' clearly reveals which side they are on. When you lump good and evil together, it becomes difficult to draw rational conclusions.
Trump’s goal is to push his agenda. He said, ‘When I become president, I will end the war in a week.’ He wants to boost his authority with this. He presents it as if stopping the war is in America's interest—claiming that American taxpayers’ money is going to Ukraine and should instead be used for ordinary Americans," Chitadze said.
When asked whether the actions of the new U.S. administration serve the interests of "Georgian Dream," Chitadze responded: "Yes, it serves 'Georgian Dream’s' interests but not Georgia’s national interests."
"They now have an excuse to talk about the existence of a 'deep state' and so on. Today, neither the U.S. nor Europe has time for Georgia. Priorities have shifted, and attention is focused on U.S.-European relations. Naturally, this situation benefits 'Georgian Dream' because it allows them to maintain power," Chitadze stated.
