Giorgi Baramidze on the local self-government elections: I see no sense in discussing any elections in the current situation—this government must go, and normal, civilized, and fair elections must be held

"We know very well what kind of regime this treacherous criminal gang has established. What they are conducting is not an election but a special operation involving the State Security Service, the Prosecutor’s Office, the police, and the criminal underworld," said Giorgi Baramidze, a member of Unity – National Movement, while discussing the local self-government elections.

According to him, the current government must step down, and normal, civilized, and fair elections must be held in the country.

"We know very well what kind of regime this treacherous criminal gang has created. Instead of elections, they are conducting a special operation with the involvement of the State security service, the Prosecutor’s Office, the police, and the criminal underworld. This process includes bribery, intimidation, confiscation of people's identification documents, and other manipulative mechanisms. Given this reality, I see no sense in discussing any elections in such a situation. This government must go, and the country must hold normal, civilized, and fair elections," said Giorgi Baramidze.
