Levan Makhashvili: For the opposition, only their narrow political interests are valuable - If necessary, one day they will idolize the U.S. Ambassador, and the next day they will attack them on Facebook and bury the entire embassy in the ground

While the opposition, together with its internal and external allies, is driving the country towards a precipice, we will responsibly continue the country's development and care for the population.

This is what the Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on European Integration, Levan Makhashvili, said during the plenary session of Parliament.

According to him, the opposition is ready to sacrifice everything just to seize power.

"There are forces trying to drag Georgia into chaos. These forces have not disappeared; on the contrary, this time, they are beginning to make their home in Europe, hiding behind European institutions to continue teaching others lessons. With this hope, the opposition is ready to sacrifice everything just to seize power. For them, there is no Europe, no U.S., and, most sadly, no Georgian national interests; none of them are valuable to them. What matters to them are only their narrow political interests, and if necessary, they will insult America, the EU, and even sacrifice Georgia's future. One day they will idolize the U.S. Ambassador, and the next day they will attack them on Facebook and bury the entire embassy in the ground. They have done it, they are doing it, and they will continue to do so in the future. Therefore, we must be very clear about one thing—peace is not a gift; it is a responsibility. We have repeatedly shown the population that they can rely on the government of the "Georgian Dream" and its responsible policies, even in the most difficult times. While the opposition, together with its internal and external allies, is driving the country towards a precipice, we will responsibly continue the country's development and care for the population," said Levan Makhashvili.
