Nika Gvaramia: Politicians and NGOs will be accused in the 'sabotage case.' We know what 'Georgian Dream' means when the Soviet Union imposes sanctions on Europe - they won't allow this to happen

The leader of the "Coalition for Change," Nika Gvaramia, does not rule out that politicians and non-governmental organizations will be accused in the "sabotage case."

As he stated at today's briefing, "The journalist Nanuka Zhorzholiani is a very wrong target, and if the government is planning anything regarding Nanuka Zhorzholiani, they will not give in to her or to the foundations."

"We will not hand over to anyone the person who has been doing absolutely unimaginable things recently, nor to other foundations, because we know where this is going. We know what it means when goodness is sanctioned by evil. When love is sanctioned by hatred. We know what 'Georgian Dream' means when the Soviet Union imposes sanctions on Europe. We know this, and we will not allow it to happen," Gvaramia said.

According to him, the freezing of the foundations is neither the first nor the last thing that "Georgian Dream" will do. However, Gvaramia believes that freezing Nanuka Zhorzholiani’s foundation is wrong.

"After this, it is clear that in the 'sabotage case,' politicians and non-governmental organizations will be accused, but Nanuka Zhorzholiani is a very wrong target. If I have never seen fear from anyone more than from myself, I can say this about Nanuka Zhorzholiani," Gvaramia said.

He also noted that Georgia will become Belarus if the situation does not change soon.

"Georgia will not be Belarus," we have heard this many times, but Georgia will become Belarus if we do not change this situation very soon. An unimaginable thing is happening at first glance, but nothing is unimaginable for this regime. Yesterday, they froze 4 foundations: "Nanuka’s Foundation," the so-called "Gilauri Foundation," the "For Each Other" foundation, and the "Tbilisi Human Rights House." Do you know what these foundations are? They are foundations that help, for example, the families of prisoners. With this freeze, today, prisoners, who are already illegally imprisoned, and their family members will be left without significant support. Every prisoner’s family knows how important financial support is at this time, moral as well as financial. Do you know what foundations these are? Especially "Nanuka’s Foundation," which tackled one of the most important problems in the country. It did what the government should have done. These are the foundations that pay fines for illegally fined people," Gvaramia said.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
