The court's decision is illegal. This is how lawyer Giorgi Khimshiashvili responded to the Batumi City Court's decision regarding the founder of the publications "Batumelebi" and "Netgazeti," Mzia Amaghlobeli, who was found guilty of an administrative offense and fined 2000 GEL.

According to Giorgi Khimshiashvili, the judicial system and all agencies involved in the case against Mzia Amaghlobeli are "absolutely repressive."

"This is the illegal decision that has unfortunately continued against Mzia Amaghlobeli from the moment of her detention until today. We see at the level of the judicial system and all agencies, where the state is involved, that the process concerning Mzia Amaghlobeli is absolutely repressive and aimed at punishment. Today's decision is a manifestation of this," said Giorgi Khimshiashvili.

For information, Batumi City Court found Mzia Amaghlobeli, the founder of the publications "Batumelebi" and "Netgazeti," guilty of an administrative offense and imposed a 2000 GEL fine.

Mzia Amaghlobeli was initially detained administratively during a protest near the Batumi police headquarters on January 11, and was released about two hours later. A few minutes after her release, she was detained again near the headquarters under criminal law.
