Levan Tsutskiridze: The date is approaching that the Council of Europe set for Georgia – we urge the 'Georgian Dream' to immediately begin fulfilling these conditions

The political movement "Field of Freedom" urges the "Georgian Dream" to implement the resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which, according to them, calls for holding new elections in Georgia in the coming months, the release of political prisoners, and the continuation of the path towards European integration.

This statement was made by the chairman of "Field of Freedom," Levan Tsutskiridze, together with his supporters. As Tsutskiridze noted, if the "Georgian Dream" fails to fulfill the Council of Europe's request, Georgia may be completely excluded from the European space.

"Today, we are facing a historical catastrophe due to the policies of the 'Georgian Dream' because the date is approaching that the Council of Europe set for Georgia to take decisive steps to restore democracy, protect human rights, and resolve the political crisis it has created in this country.

You know that Georgia's delegation in the Council of Europe has a number of restrictions on its rights, including the ability to observe significant elections, as well as the fact that our delegation cannot work in the human rights committee. They were told that before the spring session starts on April 7th, they need to take significant steps, such as starting an inclusive dialogue to resolve the political crisis, restoring European integration, improving relations with the Council of Europe, ending police violence and human rights violations, and conducting investigations.

From the Assembly's perspective, it is very important that new elections are held in the country and political prisoners are freed. In this situation, we are faced with the threat that not only the process of joining the European Union may be halted, but Georgia could be completely excluded from the European space.

Georgia's political identity was shaped this way, and it was formed as a part of the European space. Today, we are in a situation where we may be completely left outside the European space and European mechanisms, which are extremely important for our development and the protection of human rights. Therefore, we want to urge and demand that the 'Georgian Dream' immediately begin fulfilling these conditions. We also want to remind the public that a very important date is approaching in the history of our country," said Levan Tsutskiridze.
