Mamuka Khazaradze: I was contacted by the prosecutor’s office, and they told me to come as a witness. I’m curious, what exactly am I a witness to?! In the circus performance, which I didn’t participate in? - Of course, they want to arrest me, and I’m ready to go to the magistrate judge

I was contacted by the prosecutor’s office and told to come as a witness. I’m ready to come to the magistrate judge at any time, - this is what the leader of "Lelo - Strong Georgia," Mamuka Khazaradze, writes on social media, commenting on the fact that the prosecutor’s office launched an investigation based on the Temporary Investigative Commission's request.

As Khazaradze writes, he deliberately and fully consciously did not attend the "unrecognized parliament."

"The prosecutor's office contacted me and told me to come as a witness. It’s very interesting, what am I a witness to?! To the circus performance, in which I didn’t participate? Of course, they want to arrest me. I am ready to come to the magistrate judge at any time.

Once again, I say - I deliberately and fully consciously did not go to the unrecognized parliament, to an unclear commission, however, despite the fact that the court is controlled by Bidzina Murusidze, I am ready to resolve any issue, even in this court, that interests you," Khazaradze writes.

The prosecutor's office, due to his absence at the session of the Temporary Investigative Commission of Parliament, which investigates the activities of the National Movement government, has launched an investigation under Article 349 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. This was confirmed by the prosecutor's office to InterPressNews.

The investigation was initiated based on the commission's request.

To remind you, during the March 25 commission session, the case of business pressure - the case of LLC "Magnati" - was discussed. Businessman Jemal Leonidze was the owner of the gas station network, "Magnati." Leonidze accused Mamuka Khazaradze of property confiscation along with high-ranking officials of the previous government. Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, the leaders of "Strong Georgia," were summoned to the session. As Mamuka Khazaradze wrote on social media, he has no intention of attending the parliamentary investigative commission or participating in "this circus." Badri Japaridze also did not attend the session. On March 26, the commission made a decision to send his case to the prosecutor's office for further action.

For your information, failure to comply with the requests of the Georgian Parliament's Temporary Investigative Commission is punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to one year, as well as the removal of the right to hold office or engage in activities for up to three years.
