In the Parliament of Georgia, the seventh session of the temporary investigative commission studying the activities of the "United National Movement" is underway.
At this moment, the commission is listening to General Mamuka Kurashvili, who appeared at the session in military uniform.
Today, the commission will also hear from former State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava, his deputy from 2004-2006 Giorgi Volski, and Irakli Batiashvili.
Regarding the topic of discussion, as commission member Paata Salia mentioned before the session began, today's meeting will not be limited to the events of the Russia-Georgia war. The discussion will also cover the peace process that took place in the period leading up to the war.
"First of all, we will listen to General Mamuka Kurashvili, whose hearing could not take place yesterday due to the prolonged questioning of other individuals. We will start the commission with Mamuka Kurashvili's hearing, followed by discussions on peace policy and related events with Mr. Goga Khaindrava, who was the State Minister for Conflict Resolution at the time, his deputy Giorgi Volski, and also today, Irakli Batiashvili will be questioned," said Salia.
