Badri Japaridze announces that he has been summoned to the Prosecutor's Office and is ready to appear before the magistrate judge

One of the leaders of "Lelo – Strong Georgia," Badri Japaridze, stated that he has been summoned to the Prosecutor's Office as part of a "groundless investigation" initiated based on a request from the Parliamentary Temporary Investigative Commission.

According to Japaridze, he is ready to appear before a magistrate judge.

"An investigator from the Tbilisi Prosecutor's Office, Marta Kikinashvili, contacted me. They want to interview me as a witness.

First of all, the letter they sent does not specify which criminal case they want to question me about. This information was only clarified after my lawyer made a phone call.

Of course, this interrogation is related to the groundless investigation launched following the request of the so-called Parliamentary Temporary Investigative Commission.

Accordingly, I am exercising my right under Article 113 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Georgia and, instead of appearing at the Prosecutor's Office, I am ready to give my testimony before a magistrate judge, together with my lawyer," Japaridze wrote on his Facebook page.
