Mamuka Khazaradze: I will decide after negotiations with lawyers whether to pay the 50,000-GEL bail

According to Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of Lelo – Strong Georgia, he will decide after negotiations with his lawyers whether to pay the 50,000-GEL bail imposed by the court.

As Khazaradze explained to journalists, the Georgian Dream is trying to discredit him.

“For the last 5 years since I entered politics, the Georgian Dream has been trying to discredit me personally based on various fabricated cases, and I have stated this in court. Despite the fact that during my 30 years of business career, there has not been a single case against me, no complaint or any kind, I am ready, despite the absurd tales from 15 years ago, to give a qualified answer in this court, if there is such a thing. Therefore, first of all, I call on the political prisoners, guys, be strong! We will not abandon you. We will not abandon the fight for freedom, we will not abandon the choice of the Georgian people to have this country become part of the European Union,” Khazaradze said.

Mamuka Khazaradze is charged under Article 349 of the Criminal Code, which refers to "failure to comply with the request of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Parliament of Georgia." The aforementioned action is punishable by a fine, or imprisonment for a term of up to one year, or deprivation of the right to hold a position or engage in an activity for a term of up to three years.
