Kakha Kaladze on the sanctioning of judges: This is just empty talk – What reasonable suspicion?! sanctioning high-ranking officials is a form of blackmail

"This is just empty talk – what reasonable suspicion?! Sanctioning specific high-ranking officials is one element of blackmail. The goal is to take control of the country and use it to serve their own interests," said Kakha Kaladze, Secretary General of Georgian Dream and Mayor of Tbilisi, in response to the UK government's decision to sanction Georgian judges Levan Murusidze and Mikheil Chinchaladze.

According to Kaladze, "this is a continuation of the same trend we have seen over the past months and years."

"Everything is based on lies, falsehoods, and deception. The reality is radically different from the statements they are making. It is unfortunate, but we expect that things will change drastically.

This is just empty talk – what reasonable suspicion?! This is all completely false. It is a continuation of the actions taken against Georgia. You know how unfairly our country is treated. Today, the same tactics are being used—constant blackmail, slander, and a commanding tone.

Sanctioning high-ranking officials is a form of blackmail. They want to take control of the country and use nations like Georgia and Ukraine to advance their own interests. We are fighting against this, and we have had to endure a lot. It has been very difficult—far from an easy process. Unfortunately, it continues today. But when it comes to our homeland, we will always stand where our country needs us," Kaladze stated.

For reference, the UK government has imposed sanctions on judges Levan Murusidze and Mikheil Chinchaladze. According to the UK government's statement, there is "serious suspicion that Mikheil Chinchaladze is or has been involved in corruption." Regarding Levan Murusidze, the statement notes that "there is serious suspicion that he is or has been engaged in corruption."
