Irakli Kupradze: UK sanctions are a direct response to the injustice and criminal decisions made by the Murusidze-Chinchaladze court system

"The UK sanctions are a direct response to the injustice and criminal decisions made by the Murusidze-Chinchaladze court system," said Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of Lelo – Strong Georgia, following a meeting between Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zourabichvili, and opposition parties.

According to Kupradze, the fact that the UK has expressed suspicion that Murusidze and Chinchaladze are involved in corruption is further proof that the court’s rulings are unlawful.

"The coordination platform continues its work. Today, our main focus was on international reactions, which are the result of the efforts made by pro-Western opposition parties. Our primary goal is to quickly, effectively, and objectively inform our international partners because the system is facing the kind of blows it deserves. These pressures will only intensify from our Western partners.

The UK sanctions are a direct response to the injustice and criminal decisions made by the Murusidze-Chinchaladze court system. The fact that the UK political spectrum and government have expressed suspicions of corruption involving Murusidze and Chinchaladze is yet another confirmation that these rulings are illegal. This includes political corruption and the implementation of orders by the Murusidze-Chinchaladze judicial clan against political prisoners and opposition figures," Kupradze stated.
