Georgian Dream MP Lasha Talakhadze becomes President of the National Weightlifting Federation

Lasha Talakhadze, a member of parliament from the ruling Georgian Dream party, has been elected as the President of the National Weightlifting Federation. The federation itself released the announcement.

According to the statement, Talakhadze will serve a four-year term in this position.

"Lasha Talakhadze has been elected as the President of the National Weightlifting Federation. The three-time Olympic champion will lead the federation for the next four years.

Talakhadze was unanimously elected to the position by the voting delegates.

Additionally, the following board members were confirmed: Chairman: Lasha Talakhadze

Members: Akakios Kakhiashvili, Giorgi Asanidze, Irakli Turmanidze, Avtandil Gakhokidze, Koba Talakhadze, Ilia Tvalodze, Zurab Antauri, Malkhaz Lomtadze, Gocha Chikovani, Shota Mishvelidze, Raul Tsirekidze, Davit Kharatashvili, Giorgi Chincharauli, and Nugzar Khuzuarashvili.

Rusudan Muradashvili will continue to serve as the Secretary General.

The newly elected president introduced three vice presidents: Kakhi Kakhiashvili, Irakli Turmanidze, and Nodar Sirbilashvili," the statement reads.
