Georgia has new ambassadors to the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Vatican. This information was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
According to the ministry, Aleksandre Chkuaseli has been appointed as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Spain.
"Since 2003, he has held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Georgia’s diplomatic missions. Aleksandre Chkuaseli previously served as Georgia’s Consul General in Barcelona. He holds the diplomatic rank of Minister Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary," the ministry stated.
Konstantine Surguladze has been appointed as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Slovenia.
"Konstantine Surguladze has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1997. At different times, he served as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Republic of Italy. He also held the position of State Minister for Diaspora Issues of Georgia. He holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary," the ministry’s statement reads.
Davit Mekvabishvili has been appointed as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Holy See in the Vatican.
"At different times, he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Georgia to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and served as the director of the Cardinal Pio Laghi Foundation. He has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Order of Malta," according to the ministry’s press release.
