Police officer Giorgi Bzhalava: When you hit a police officer, what condition do you expect him to be in? Irakli Dgebuadze’s face was red – I saw him about 10–15 minutes after the incident

“When you hit a police officer, what condition do you expect him to be in? [Irakli Dgebuadze] had a red face,” said police officer Giorgi Bzhalava in response to a question during the criminal case hearing of Mzia Amaglobeili at Batumi City Court.

As the officer, questioned as a witness, noted, he saw Irakli Dgebuadze about 15 minutes after the incident.

“I met him inside the building. What condition should he be in—when you hit a police officer, what do you expect? His face was red. I saw him approximately 10–15 minutes after the incident. He was wearing the same jacket as during the commission of the crime,” Bzhalava stated.

For context, at the ongoing trial in Batumi City Court regarding the criminal case against Mzia Amaglobeili, founder of “Batumelebi” and “Netgazeti,” the prosecution presented witnesses involved in the case. These included the investigators of Amaglobeili’s case, Levan Gogmachadze and Guram Diasamidze. During the session, video footage of the incident near the Adjara Police Department was presented and reviewed. In total, four witnesses were questioned in Amaglobeili’s case.
