On Georgia’s National Unity Day, Lithuania stands with the Georgian people in their struggle for a European future — the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on social platform X.

“On Georgia's National Unity Day, together with the Georgian people, we remember the tragic events of April 9, 1989, when Soviet forces brutally cracked down on peaceful protesters, and the restoration of independence on April 9, 1991.

Lithuania stands with the Georgian people in their fight for a European future,” the Ministry stated.
