Zurab Tsetskhladze: We, the family members of political prisoners, do not hide that we are planning to wage a very tough fight against this regime – we call on everyone to stand together on April 14 and hold a powerful event

We, the family members of political prisoners, do not hide that we are planning to wage a very tough fight against this regime.

We are ready, and within the bounds of necessary self-defense, we will protect our lives — we are even prepared for hand-to-hand combat. No one is planning to back down! — said Zurab Tsetskhladze, father of Zviad Tsetskhladze, who was detained during the protests, during a speech at the rally held in front of the Public Broadcaster building.

Tsetskhladze addressed the public and said that they are planning a major rally on April 14, which will have leaders at the front.

"Events are developing very rapidly. As we can see, the regime is not stopping and is trying to inflict punitive and destructive blows against the protest electorate as fast and as widely as possible — but I assure you, it will not succeed.

We are consolidating civil society and forming a very large group united in this cause. Our work in this direction is nearing completion, and very soon we will confront this self-proclaimed, illegitimate, and treacherous government with a powerful center of resistance.

We, the family members of political prisoners, do not hide that we are planning to wage a very tough fight against this regime. We must say clearly — we are ready, and within the scope of necessary defense, we will protect our lives, and if needed, we are ready for hand-to-hand fighting. No one intends to back down!

We do not intend to sacrifice our lives for them, but neither do we intend to endanger anyone else's life. We will protect our own lives as well as the lives of those who stand beside us — we already have the strength for this.

We are not backing down because Georgia is behind us, our children are behind us, the future of our country is behind us, and the road back has simply been cut off — we have already made this vow.

As family members of political prisoners, we will stand beside the youth, everywhere and in everything, so that this generation can honorably fulfill this oath and enter history with dignity.

We call on everyone to stand together on April 14 and hold a powerful event — to show them that we truly are a serious force. Our rally will have leaders and security, so that no one can lay a hand on anyone,” said Zurab Tsetskhladze.
