Neither I nor my deputies gave the order to use special equipment, - former Minister of Internal Affairs, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, Giorgi Gakharia stated at the session of the temporary investigative commission of the parliament, answering the question of the commission's chairwoman, Tea Tsulukiani, on the events of June 20.

According to Gakharia, he only gave the order to use tear gas and water cannon.

"The order to use special equipment, in accordance with the relevant plan and the law on police, was issued by me in cases when it concerned tear gas and water cannon. In other cases, neither I nor my deputies have given the order to use special equipment," - Gakharia stated.
