The airline Ifly will begin operating flights between Russia and Sokhumi starting in the second half of May, according to a company representative who spoke with Russian media.

"After the completion of the preparatory phase, the specific start date for the flights will be announced. I believe flights will begin in the second half of May," the Ifly representative stated.

He explained that the technical phase of preparations for regular flights is currently underway, including an assessment of the airport’s technical capacity to receive and service Airbus A330 aircraft.

For reference, just a few days ago, Rosaviatsia (the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency) granted flight permits to Ifly and NordStar for operations to Sokhumi.
