Dimitri Tskitiashvili: I remain firm in my position that participating in the commission's session was not advisable

Dimitri Tskitishvili, a member of the "For Georgia" party, confirms that an agreement not to attend the parliamentary investigative commission session was reached within the coordination format, with his personal participation and approval.

Tskitishvili wrote on social media that, in his personal opinion, considering several factors, not attending the session would have been the right decision. However, he also notes that the issue carries a significant personal dimension, goes beyond party frameworks, and falls within the scope of national interests.

“I want to clarify my position regarding the agreement reached within the coordination format.

Within the framework of coordination, an agreement was indeed reached not to attend the investigative commission session — with my participation and approval, even though this had not been previously discussed within the party.

At the time, and still today, I believe that non-attendance was the correct decision considering several factors.

However, the issue has an important personal dimension — especially regarding topics like June 20, Chorchana, or even the resignation from the post of Prime Minister. These topics go beyond party boundaries and fall within the realm of broader national interests.

I should have taken these factors into account when joining the agreement, and I regret if my involvement damaged the coordination format.

Although yesterday sparked mixed reactions — including some positive assessments — I still stand by my position that participation in the commission session was not advisable,” wrote Dimitri Tskitishvili.
