Mikheil Kavelashvili: Recently Georgia and Azerbaijan have repeatedly become objects of double standards and interference in internal affairs by external forces - despite numerous attempts, we are resolutely dealing with these threats

Unfortunately, recently our countries have repeatedly become objects of double standards and interference in internal affairs by external forces. Despite numerous attempts, we are resolutely dealing with these threats, ensuring security and stability in the region. It is impossible for any third country or organization to know better than us what is best for our peoples, - Mikheil Kavelashvili stated at a joint press conference after his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

In addition, Kavelashvili noted that Georgia welcomes the completion of the negotiation process on all points of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“This is undoubtedly a step forward in demonstrating and utilizing the potential and capabilities of the region.

We hope that a historic agreement will be signed in the near future, which will be a significant impetus for ensuring long-term and sustainable peace in the region.

Once again, I would like to emphasize Georgia’s declared peace policy and readiness to contribute to ensuring peace in the region.

I would like to assure you that Georgia has always been a supporter of dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful coexistence in the South Caucasus, and this course will continue in the future. The special, long-standing friendship between our countries and our common wise policy have allowed us to correctly define the role of our region. I am confident that our common future includes a successful, economically strong and prosperous South Caucasus region, where our peoples will be able to happily coexist under their own customs and traditions, not under imposed pseudo-liberal values," Kavelashvili noted.
