Swedish FM: Laws severely restricting civil society in Georgia were rushed through – This is fundamentally incompatible with EU values

The laws that were rapidly discussed and adopted in Georgia are fundamentally incompatible with the values of the European Union and core democratic principles. This is what Sweden’s Foreign Minister, Maria Stenergard, wrote on her X (formerly Twitter) page.

“Yesterday, in Georgia, laws severely restricting civil society were rushed through. This is fundamentally incompatible with EU values and core democratic principles,” Stenergard wrote.
