A rally has begun near the Parliament, organized by students and the parents of those detained during the ongoing protest demonstrations.
Speeches by the family members of detainees and students are planned at the site. They have brought banners with various slogans.
At this time, traffic on Rustaveli Avenue is not blocked. Law enforcement officers are mobilized on the scene.
The participants will march to Heroes’ Square, where, according to them, exactly one year ago, students took an oath at the Heroes' Memorial, pledging not to stop until Russian imperialism is defeated in Georgia. As part of today's rally, they will once again reenact the oath-taking ceremony.
The demonstrators gathered near the “Public Broadcaster” building will join this rally and then head toward the Parliament in a march.
The participants also plan to celebrate Easter together near Kashveti Church.
Today marks the 143rd day of protest. The demands remain unchanged — they are calling for snap elections and the release of political prisoners.
In addition to Tbilisi, rallies are also planned in the regions.
