Georgia must abolish the "Law on Occupied Territories" — this statement was made by the so-called Minister of Foreign Affairs of occupied Abkhazia, Oleg Bartsyts, in an interview with Russian media.

"The statements by the Georgian leadership about wanting to improve relations with their main neighbors — Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and the Russian Federation — have not gone unnoticed by us, but this requires practical confirmation and real steps," Bartsyts said.

According to him, Georgia must sign a document on the non-use of force.

"In my opinion, several steps can be taken toward this, including the abolition of the 'Law on Occupied Territories,' which cannot withstand any criticism or the test of time. We must take into account the current reality. Secondly — and this is very important, and we will draw our colleagues' attention to this during the Geneva format negotiations — is the signing of an agreement on the non-use of military force. Only after that can we talk about other issues," Bartsyts stated.
