The collective “National Movement” was distinguished in recent days by direct insults towards the [OSCE] Secretary General, and now they’re trying to meet with him—they’ve changed their position. This once again underlines that these people are directly managed by those giving them orders. They were instructed that it would look bad if they didn’t meet with the OSCE Secretary General, – said Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee, in a statement to journalists.

According to him, opposition representatives “are eager to damage Georgia’s image on the international stage, so they can then justify their narrative that Georgia is in isolation.”

“They received the instruction that it would not look good if they didn’t meet with the OSCE Secretary General, and now they are trying to arrange such a meeting to fulfill that order. In reality, there’s nothing Georgian about these people. They don’t care what is important for our country, and they don’t care about relations with our partners. These people are solely focused on damaging Georgia’s international image in order to later justify their message that the country is isolated. How can Georgia be in isolation when the OSCE Secretary General visits and meets with government officials? They didn’t like this fact, which is why they stood out with their insults. Now they’ve received an order that it would be inappropriate not to meet with the head of an international organization, so they’re trying to follow through,” Gorduladze said.

Gorduladze also commented on the “Coalition for Change” statement, in which they said they do not intend to meet with the OSCE Secretary General. He remarked that “they’ll have to answer to their patrons for this.”

“Maybe a higher level of their handlers didn’t issue the instruction, and when the lower level did, they dared to show slight disobedience. I’m sure they’ll answer for it with their patrons. That’s the fate of an agent – they’re not supposed to ask questions, just follow orders without a word,” said Gorduladze.

For context, representatives of opposition parties held a meeting with the OSCE Secretary General, Feridun Sinirlioğlu.

Specifically, representatives from “Lelo – For Strong Georgia” and “Unity – National Movement” attended the meeting together. As for the party “Gakharia for Georgia,” according to existing information, its representatives met with the OSCE Secretary General earlier.

Meanwhile, representatives of the “Coalition for Change” do not intend to meet with the OSCE Secretary General. They issued a statement saying that “for the defeat of the regime and the achievement of the Georgian people's historic goal, clarity and consistency are essential.”
