Kakha Kaladze: In 2028, "Georgian Dream" will win again, and in the following elections as well. As for visa liberalization, the responsibility lies with some of the European bureaucrats who speak to the Georgian people in the language of blackmail

The General Secretary of the "Georgian Dream" and the Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, stated that in 2028, "Georgian Dream" will win again, and in the following elections as well.

As he told journalists, the people's demand is the policy that "Georgian Dream" is pursuing. According to Kaladze, if Georgia had made a mistake and satisfied the request of the "spoiled, corrupt bureaucrats" regarding the so-called second front, the situation in the country would be different today.

"The demand of the Georgian people is the policy that 'Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia' is currently pursuing. You radicals are in the minority. There are very few of you, and you will have to accept that. In 2028, 'Georgian Dream' will win again, and in the following elections as well," Kaladze told journalists.

The Mayor of Tbilisi also spoke about the possible suspension of the visa-free regime by the European Union and emphasized that the responsibility lies with the "spoiled bureaucrats."

According to Kaladze, they speak to the Georgian people and the Georgian state in the language of blackmail.

"All responsibility lies with those European, spoiled bureaucrats who speak to the Georgian people and the Georgian state in the language of blackmail. We will not give anyone the opportunity, whether they try to blackmail us through the European integration process or personally. Georgia's interests will not be compromised. This must be understood very well by some of those spoiled, corrupt European bureaucrats. They need to fully understand this from head to toe. We have seen many such resolutions, we remember a lot of blackmail. First, they blackmailed us with candidate status, then with the opening of negotiations, and now with visa liberalization and the association agreement. As for the association agreement, if anyone wants to see what Georgia has done in terms of European integration, everyone will be convinced that Georgia is a leading country with its advanced steps and fulfilled obligations. We are ahead of the countries that, for example, obtained candidate status earlier than us and opened negotiations, but there is another reality here - they have a different attitude toward Georgia because they lost the elections. I am referring to the spoiled, corrupt European bureaucrats, not the most talked-about ones. They lost in Georgia; the Georgian people said no to them. Of course, this drives them crazy, and that’s why they are upset. Sometimes they try to blackmail us with visa liberalization, sometimes with candidate status, and sometimes with the opening or non-opening of negotiations," Kaladze said.

In response to a journalist's question about whether he expects the suspension of the visa-free regime, Kaladze said that for him, Georgia’s independence and sovereignty are the most important.

"For me, the independence of our country is more important, and strengthening the sovereignty of my country is essential," Kaladze stated.

When asked who is taking away independence and sovereignty, Kaladze responded that it is "spoiled specific bureaucrats."

"Exactly those spoiled specific bureaucrats who are fighting against the Georgian state. Ukraine-ization will not happen in Georgia," Kaladze added.

According to the Mayor of Tbilisi, today’s situation in Georgia is not what it was before 2012. As Kakha Kaladze explained, the country is developing economically, there is economic growth, businesses are growing, and jobs are being created.

When asked how high economic growth affects citizens, Kakha Kaladze pointed out that one indicator of this is the increased number of cars in the capital.

"Walk around the city and you will see. Let me give you a simple example, just look at the number of cars, how many there were and how many cars are moving in the capital today. Of course, the number of cars reflects this, it is directly correlated. You can see this, it’s one small example, but there are many other important issues," Kaladze said.
