German Defense Minister: If Ukraine falls, if Putin wins this war in terms of occupying Ukraine, this would pose a maximum threat to NATO territory and, by the way, to neighboring countries such as Moldova and Georgia

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius believes that the proposals for territorial concessions by Ukraine, which the administration of US President Donald Trump is presenting as a way to reach a peace agreement, go too far and that the guiding principle should be guarantees of future security.

“Ukraine could have achieved this independently, practically a year ago, by capitulating,” Boris Pistorius said.

He said that Germany would continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine even if US support is ceased, and that this was clearly stipulated in the coalition agreement.

“If Ukraine falls, if Putin wins this war in terms of occupying Ukraine, this would pose a maximum threat to NATO territory and, by the way, to neighboring countries such as Moldova and Georgia,” Pistorius said.

He said that it should be clear to everyone that this is not just about solidarity with Ukraine.

“This is not just about solidarity with Ukraine, it is about our security and our peace in Europe,” the German Defense Minister noted.
